THE BEST OUT OF 190 OLIVE OILS
SPRING 2020
LUCERNE
The Swiss Olive Oil Award, which will be announcing for the first time in 2019 the results of its olive oil tests carried out in 2019, aims to promote olive oil quality in Switzerland. Unlike any other major olive oil competitions, the Swiss Olive Oil Award will focus exclusively on olive oils available in the Swiss retail that have been declared as extra virgin olive oils.
The results of the Swiss Olive Oil Award will be presented to the media and to the public. The Swiss Olive Oil Award is a novelty in the history of olive oil competitions. Not only winning oils are placed into the spotlight, but also those products which did not score well in the test will be presented.
The aim of the Swiss Olive Oil Award is to ensure maximum transparency of the Swiss olive oil market and to educate consumers about quality extra virgin olive oil.

THE ORGANISERS
A PROJECT OF IOF - INTERNATIONAL OLIVE FOUNDATION
The organisation of the Swiss Olive Oil Award is the responsibility of the IOF - the International Olive Foundation.
The Lucerne-based foundation is committed to protecting the extra virgin olive oil quality standard. The IOF is a private olive oil audit body that awards the "IOF Quality Guarantee Seal" for genuine extra virgin olive oils.
IOF criteria for analysis are based on the latest amendment to the EU Olive Oil Regulation (EEC) 2568/91, the current version of Regulation of the EDI 817.022.17, as well as IOF quality and authenticity criteria. The testing methodology IOFs is currently regarded by consumers of extra virgin olive oil as the safest and most stringent of its kind in the world.
